Job summary

Gas Monkey Icehouse is seeking a part-time non-exempt Bartender to deliver friendly, efficient service at the bar and dining area. You will follow recipes, keep accurate drink prep, and engage guests with a welcoming demeanor.

Responsibilities include passing the TABC test, handling orders, and maintaining a clean workspace while supporting team operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Licenses or certifications for alcohol service (e.g., TABC) and health compliance.

Responsibilities

• Pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test and obtain TABC certification.
• Provide attentive bar service and ensure drinks follow recipes and quality standards.
• Greet guests within 30 seconds and engage with them professionally.
• Ring orders into the computer, take payment, and provide correct change.
• Maintain clean and stocked bar areas and assist in dining room as needed.
• Work as a team to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.
• Adhere to company guidelines for alcohol handling and safety.

General Purpose of the Job:

As a Bartender, you must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A guest’s dinner and/or bar experience should be equally enjoyable, and you play a major role in the overall picture. Remember, consistency is a key element in a positive experience. We achieve this by always following recipes. Your individual personality should shine through – use it to your advantage. You should be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Be guest sensitive and possess a sense of timing. Take pride in personal appearance and show dedication to your job. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of your employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test and obtain TABC certification.
• Protect Gas Monkey Icehouse by practicing responsible alcohol service and quality control on all drinks leaving the bar. Calling a taxi when necessary.
• Adhere to all drink recipes, syrups and infusions.
• Follow beer handling and receiving guidelines
• Welcome each guests personally within 30 seconds, write the guest name and your name on the workshop tape so the guests always know who you are.
• Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times.
• Make guests feel appreciated through your actions.
• Work as a team with all personnel in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
• Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to company standards at all times.
• Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes.
• Ring drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served and make change.
• Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in agreement with Gas Monkey Icehouse’s standards.
• Be attentive! Offer your assistance before the guests has to ask for it.
• Count drinks Guests are served.
• Place current bar tabs in front of Guests at all times.
• Anticipate your guest’s needs. Follow the half-full rule when offering another drink.
• Be alert of guest signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledge the guest so they know you will be right with them.
• Learn your guests’ names, occupations, and favorite drinks. This will make Gas Monkey Icehouse a special place for them.
• Do not hesitate to ask for management intervention if necessary.
• Other duties as directed.
