Job summary

SSP America is seeking a bartender in Sterling, VA to take orders, handle payments, and serve a broad range of beverages and foods in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of bartending experience, English proficiency, and the ability to operate a POS system. We offer full-time and part-time roles with On-Demand Pay via Fuego for earned wages.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year bartending experience required, with appropriate training/c certification.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic drinks.
• Verbal and written English language proficiency.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests.
• Basic math skills to operate a cash register and process payments.
• Brand certification as required.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and POS to pre-check, order, and close checks.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks and a wide variety of food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, remove trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position has:

• Minimum one year bartending experience required, including certification by state, federal, or local required training program.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Verbal and written English language
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand weights and measurements.
• Brand certification as required.
• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check and order & close out a check.
• Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time.
