Job summary

SSP Deutschland GmbH in Chicago is seeking a Bartender to join our team. This full-time position pays $13.10 per hour plus tips, with full benefits, paid vacation, and free parking.

You will process orders, handle payments, serve drinks and light food, maintain a clean workspace, and assist guests with exceptional service. Must be at least 21 with one year of bartending experience and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 years.
• One year bartending experience required, with state/federal/local certification where applicable.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Verbal and written English language proficiency to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests.
• Basic math skills to handle cash register, make change, and total checks.
• Ability to operate POS and close checks.
• Ability to stand in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from customers and process change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Ensure the work area stays clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, remove trash, sweep and mop.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Here are a few things you can expect to do when you join our team as a Bartender:

• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Ensure that the work area is clean throughout the day.
• Clean equipment and utensils, removes trash, sweep and mop work area, dust and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum of 21 years old
• One year bartending experience required, including certification by state, federal, or local required training program.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Verbal and written English language
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand weights and measurements.
• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check and order & close out a check.
• Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time.
