Job summary

Torsap Thai Kitchen in San Antonio is seeking a skilled Bartender to deliver an exceptional beverage experience. You will prepare and serve an array of drinks while guiding guests through our whiskey and cocktail offerings. The ideal candidate has over 2 years of bartending experience in upscale environments, deep knowledge of spirits, and engaging communication skills. Qualifications

• 2+ years bartending experience in an upscale or high-volume cocktail/whiskey bar preferred.
• Deep knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and whiskey—bonus if you have cigar pairing knowledge.
• Engaging communication style and genuine hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, whiskey pours, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Guide guests through our whiskey, cigar, and cocktail offerings.
• Provide attentive service at the bar and for seated guests.
• Handle bar setup and breakdown during shifts.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and organization.
• Assist with whiskey tastings and private events.

At Books a whiskey society, our Bartenders are the curators of the experience—pouring with precision, mixing with artistry, and guiding guests through one of the most unique whiskey and cigar programs in the city. From crafting timeless classics to highlighting rare spirits and pairings, you’ll deliver drinks that are as memorable as the conversations they inspire. With your skill, knowledge, and presence, you’ll embody the essence of hospitality in an elevated yet welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, whiskey pours, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with accuracy and flair.
• Guide guests through our whiskey, cigar, and cocktail offerings with confident recommendations.
• Provide attentive service at the bar and for seated guests, maintaining a warm, professional presence.
• Handle bar setup and breakdown during opening and closing shifts.
• Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and full stock of all ingredients and tools.
• Create garnishes, batch cocktails, and prep ingredients ahead of service.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow TABC guidelines for responsible service.
• Process payments accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
• Assist with whiskey tastings, cigar pairings, private events, and seasonal cocktail rollouts.
• Collaborate with barbacks and servers to ensure seamless service.

Skills

• 2+ years bartending experience in an upscale or high-volume cocktail/whiskey bar preferred.
• Deep knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and whiskey—bonus if you have cigar pairing knowledge.
• Engaging communication style and genuine hospitality.
• Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure.
• Physically fit — able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Availability for weekends, late nights, and special events.
• TABC and Food Handler certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Job Settings
