Job summary

Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA is seeking a part-time bartender to deliver exceptional F&B service to members and guests. You will prepare cocktails, garnishes, and pre‑mixed drinks, and ensure accurate order transmission to the kitchen via Northstar POS.

Responsibilities include maintaining hygiene, set‑up and break‑down, greeting guests, recommending menu items, handling special requests, and complying with health and safety regulations.

Our Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional Food & Beverage service to our Club members and guests.

Primary Job Duties
  • Inspect the bar before each shift to ensure adequate product, equipment, and supplies are available and acquire additional supplies as needed throughout the shift.
  • Maintain and regularly clean equipment, floors, surfaces, and coolers to ensure a hygienic and organized workspace.
  • Follow meticulous set-up and break-down procedures to maintain a well‑organized and efficient bar, including specific set-up requirements for Banquet Bars and Private Events.
  • Prepare garnishes, cocktails, and pre‑mixed drinks with precision and conformity.
  • Warmly greet members & guests while delivering exceptional, personable service in accordance with Oakmont Country Club’s standards.
  • Offer recommendations, answer questions, and suggest menu items with a keen understanding of menu offerings and ingredients, considering dietary restrictions & allergies.
  • Take and relay orders, special requests, modifications, or cooking instructions from members & guests, ensuring accurate and efficient communication with the kitchen via Oakmont’s Northstar Point‑of‑Sale system.
  • Promptly report any member or guest issues, complaints, or suggestions to leadership.
  • Attend pre‑shift meetings to stay informed and prepared; arrive “Member Ready”; be timely, prepared, hygienic, and ready to serve members and their respectively guests.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Verify the accuracy of all charges on checks and member name and number, presenting checks professionally.
  • Attend to all opening, on‑shift, and closing side‑work duties or other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 lbs; occasionally maneuver objects up to 164 lbs (kegs).
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and reach; ability to perform continuous repetitive motions.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, aligning with the nature of Oakmont Country Club’s demands.
  • General working knowledge of bar service & etiquette, mixology, wine, beer, liquor, and food service.
  • RAMP Certification (Required – 30 days after hire).
  • Exceptional communication skills to ensure effective coordination in a dynamic work environment.
  • Friendly and cooperative demeanor to engage seamlessly with members, guests, and staff.
  • Demonstrate ability to remain calm and professional in a face‑paced work setting.
  • Previous bartending and Northstar (POS) experience is a plus.
