Job summary

Gaucho Parrilla Argentina in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an experienced bartender to represent the brand and provide exceptional guest service at the bar. A solid knowledge of our history, menus, policies and procedures is essential as you balance rail and floor service with a focus on craft cocktails.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, welcome and introduce yourself promptly at the bar.
• Answer questions about area locations, menu items, policies and procedures.
• Provide menu and beverage recommendations to guests.
• Verify IDs for the sale of alcohol and ensure responsible service.
• Assist with dietary restrictions or preferences and coordinate with the Chef as needed.
• Take guest orders and input them into the POS accurately.
• Prepare beverages promptly for service bar and rail guests.
• Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with food, beverage and service.
• Maintain accurate guest check records and present/process payments.
• Thank guests and wish them well on departure; communicate critical info to Host Attendants.
• Coordinate with shift supervisors and managers; assist others as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked bar; perform closeout procedures.

As a bartender at Gaucho Parrilla Argentina, you are an ambassador to the brand. Having a solid understanding of the history, menus, policies, and procedures of the restaurant is paramount. With this knowledge you will be able to care for our guests with confidence!

Generally, our bartenders will maintain a bar rail within the restaurant, interact with guests to answer questions, make suggestions and follow through with their service from greeting to the payment process.Additionally bartenders will also be expected to have a basic understanding and knowledge of mixology, being able to balance both their attention to the guests at the rail and timely service of cocktails to the service bar for the floor that they are working.

• Thanking guests and offering well wishes upon departure
• Updating the Host Attendants with critical information
• Maintaining communication with shift supervisors and managers
