Job summary

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in a fast-paced dining establishment and a valid food handler card. A commitment to delivering excellent customer service is essential.

Qualifications

Overview

Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interaction while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, bartenders are expected to be attentive to the guests’ needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, take beverage orders from the servers or directly from guests.
• Mix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered.
• Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
• Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Collect payment for drinks served and balance all receipts.
• Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests; prepare inventory.
• Serve snacks or food items to guests seated at the bar where appropriate.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions.

Qualifications / Requirements

• At least two years of experience at a fast-paced dining establishment is preferred; however we will train the right candidate.
• Working knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and tending bar, with the ability to learn and follow recipes.
• A warm and outgoing personality with a passion for food, wine, spirits and customer service.
• Commitment to delivering a unique and memorable guest experience.
• Excellent people skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• The ability to multi-task and work well in a high-volume environment.
• Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
• Must have a valid food handler card.
