Job Description

The Bartender at the Atrium at LaGuardia provides customized beverage service to each of the hotel’s restaurant/bar customers in a friendly, energetic, and timely manner. Responsible for assuring the guest is having a great time and/or relaxing while at the bar. Associates are passionate about guest service and can communicate effectively and multitask.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar area
2. Stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, and produce
3. Maintain stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables
4. Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
5. Promote and document orders for drinks
6. Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practice portion control
7. Attend monthly departmental meetings
8. Input orders into POS and create a check for each guest
9. Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys
10. Lock up and store all beverages, food, and other equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure bank at end of shift as needed
11. Sanitize and clean in and around the bar area
12. Work effectively and efficiently with the service and kitchen teams
13. Communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to supervisors and managers
14. Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties
15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards guests, co-workers, and management
16. Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready to work
17. Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

1. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including shift work, weekends, and holidays
2. Legal ability to serve alcohol in the State
3. Knowledge of state and local guidelines regarding service of alcohol
4. Knowledge of drink preparation, previous bartender experience preferred
5. Computational skills to process guest payment
6. Ability to lift trays of beverages or food items weighing up to 30 pounds regularly
7. High energy and interpersonal skills

Pay: $26.90 per hour
