Job summary

Shore Lodge Whitetail Club in McCall, Idaho, is seeking a personable bartender to craft cocktails and pour wine and beer in a fine-dining, resort setting.

You will greet guests, manage orders, handle tabs, operate the POS, stock the bar, and maintain a sanitary work area while delivering exceptional guest experiences and knowledge of liquors.

Qualifications

• 6 months of bartending experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment preferred.
• Knowledge of liquors, their makeup, history, and flavor profile.
• Able to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Ability to multi-task while being highly organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent customer service and cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, create an enjoyable lasting impression; manage guest requests, food orders, enter and deliver orders, accurately calculate tabs, operate the POS system and exchange money.
• Prepare cocktails, pour wine and beer, in a consistent fashion to Shore Lodge specifications.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and provide appropriate service.
• Deliver food and beverage orders accurately and timely.
• Check identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers.
• Place orders for liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies, maintain a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories.
• Clean and organize the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to streamline processes and maintain a sanitary environment.
• Slice, pit, and prepare fruit garnishes for drinks and prepare and serve snacks, or other food items for customers.
• Recognize potential intoxication, restrict alcohol intake and attempt to curtail inappropriate behavior.
• Know Shore Lodge’s history, McCall and the surrounding area well enough to help familiarize out of town guests with our local offerings.
• Assist other team members as needed.

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• 6 months of bartending experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club preferred.
• Knowledge of liquors, their makeup, history, and flavor profile
• Able to communicate effectively with and receive information from guests and team members
• Ability to multi-task while being highly organized and detail oriented
• Excellent customer service and cash handling skills
• Ability to carry on multiple conversations while mixing drinks, and effective use of a POS system
• Lifting supplies or equipment of thirty (30) pounds or more, frequent periods of pushing, pulling, bending, stooping and upward reaching and prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Functional knowledge of food techniques for preparation
• A sense of maturity and leadership
