Job OverviewThe Bartender provides warm, attentive beverage and food service to guests in the hotel’s bar, dining outlets, pool area, or other assigned service locations. This role includes preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, welcoming guests, taking and entering orders, processing guest checks, maintaining a clean and organized bar or service area, and following all responsible alcohol service standards. Full-time and part-time positions may be available. Shifts, days, hours, and schedules will vary based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.This position operates in a hotel food and beverage environment with frequent standing, walking, movement, guest interaction, and beverage preparation. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors depending on the assigned outlet and may involve exposure to noise, weather conditions, slippery surfaces, hot items, glassware, bar equipment, and cleaning supplies.Job ResponsibilitiesGuest Service & Order ManagementGreet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout the beverage and dining experienceTake accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS systemPrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to hotel standards and applicable lawMonitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests, questions, or concernsFollow all company service standards, safety procedures, sanitation guidelines, and responsible alcohol service practicesService Execution & EfficiencyMaintain knowledge of beverage offerings, menu items, specials, allergens, and preparation standardsVerify guest age and identification when serving alcoholic beverages, as requiredMonitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible service practicesManage assigned bar, tables, stations, and service areas efficientlyAssist with restocking, running food, preparing garnishes, and supporting other outlet needs as assignedCash Handling & POS OperationsAccurately process guest checks and handle cash, credit, room-charge, and bar tab transactionsFollow all check management, room-charge, bar tab, and cash handling proceduresVerify required guest information and approvals when a guest requests to sign charges to their roomEnsure accuracy and accountability in all financial transactionsCleanliness & OrganizationMaintain cleanliness of the bar, guest-facing service areas, workstations, and assigned areasEnsure glassware, bar tools, menus, garnishes, and service items are clean, organized, and properly stockedAssist with opening, closing, and side work duties related to assigned outlet serviceFollow sanitation, safety, chemical-handling, and equipment-use proceduresReport maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns to managementProduct Knowledge & Guest EngagementMaintain knowledge of all property amenities and on-site dining and beverage optionsProvide recommendations and answer guest questions about beverage and menu offeringsSupport suggestive selling to enhance the guest experiencePrepare beverages consistently according to recipes, presentation standards, and guest preferencesEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience: Bartending, food and beverage, hotel, bar, pool service, or guest service experience preferred. Equivalent hospitality experience may be considered.Certifications: California Food Handler Card required within 30 days of hire. Responsible Beverage Service certification required within 60 days of hire.
