Timuquana Country Club is a traditional private club located on the banks of the St. John’s River in Jacksonville, Florida. Open six days a week, 12 months per year, the 103 year-old, member-owned club has 1,100 member families. Job Summary

Timuquana Country Club is seeking a bartender for any/all dining outlets, private parties and member events offered at the Club. A bartender at Timuquana Country Club is responsible for preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for members and guests while creating a warm, comfortable, and friendly member experience. In this role, you will work in a safe and positive environment alongside supportive teammates with the opportunity to learn and grow with the organization.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations

(Other duties may be assigned)

  • Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Stock and prepare supplies as needed for service following club procedures.
  • Follow opening and closing checklists for the bar area.
  • Provide warm, discreet, and efficient service at the bar.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to club standards; provide food service as needed.
  • Guide members through menus and daily specials with expert knowledge.
  • Understand and anticipate needs and personalize service based on member preferences; be attentive, listen carefully, be present, and follow through; provide exceptional service.
  • Maintain cleanliness before, during, and after service; ensure cleanliness of equipment; and keep bar glasses polished.
  • Follow club standards for timing, presentation, and service etiquette.
  • Respond to member feedback promptly and with professionalism and urgency.
  • Consistently complies with state, local, and club laws/policies relating to the service of alcohol.
  • Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow-through and response.
  • Support your fellow team members and contribute to a healthy, positive culture.
Ideal Qualifications, Abilities, and Principles
  • At least one to two years of previous serving or bartending experience in a similar club or restaurant is required.
  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • Food Handler Certification a plus and will be required within 30 days of hire (Club covered expense)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and/or present information and respond to questions from member/guests, managers, and peers.
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and work as a team.
  • Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities.
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, anticipates the needs of others and is willing to acquire new skills.
  • Willingness to be taught and trained.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Availability
  • This position is available for full time individuals only. Candidates must be willing to have flexible schedules and must be willing to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Shift will differ in length.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays are a must.
Estimated Base Pay Range
  • Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • $18-$22 / hour
