Job summary

The Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites is seeking a friendly bartender to prepare cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes while promoting food sales to patrons.

Responsibilities include mixing drinks, serving wine, beer and food, collecting payments, stocking supplies, displaying items attractively, washing glassware and garnishes. HS Diploma or equivalent required; TIPS certification and state age requirements apply; prior bartending experience preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous bartending experience preferred.
• TIPS certification required; must meet state age requirements for tending bar.

• Wash glasses, bar, and equipment.
• Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks; prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese and cold meats.
• Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• If Lead Capacity applies: supervise assigned associates in the absence of the Supervisor and assign work.

• Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
• Serve wine draught, bottled beer, non-alcoholic beverages and food.
• Collect money for drinks served.
• Orders and requisitions liquors and supplies. Stock and replenish glasses, beverages, mixes, fruit, and guest supplies.
• Place bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
• Wash glasses, bar, and equipment.
• Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks; prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese and cold meats.
• Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• If functioning in a Lead Capacity: (a) take responsibility for assigned associates in the absence of the Supervisor, (b) assign work, and ensure proper performance of assigned associates.

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Previous bartending experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Must have TIPS certification and meet state law age requirements for tending bar.

Pay Rate

Pay Rate: $9.50/hour

Position Requirements

Successful completion of a background check is required prior to employment.
