Job summary

The Highlands in Harbor Springs, Michigan, is hiring bartenders for full-time or part-time roles with flexible schedules. You will serve high-quality drinks, take orders, and help with light food service while ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include handling payments, upselling, and maintaining a clean, compliant bar area. Prior experience is preferred; ServSafe certification or plan to obtain within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
• Certification: ServSafe certification (or obtain within 30 days).
• Experience: At least 6 months preferred; bartending experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas.
• Receive and process customer payments.
• Serve prepared foods, such as muffins, bagels, or sandwiches.
• Follow all health regulations and maintain a sanitary environment.
• Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
• Upsell food and beverage items by using suggestive selling techniques.
• Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
• Accurately process receipts/bank/sales for the day
• Respond promptly and courteously to any customer requests.
• Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions.
• Provide customers the help they may need for our many retail items.

Overview

The Highlands is looking for new Bartenders to join our team. You will be responsible for serving high-quality drinks to guests as well as taking drink orders and maintaining the bar. We are looking for full-time or part-time bartenders and schedules are flexible, allowing you and your manager to find a schedule that fits your lifestyle and giving you the time you need to enjoy the perks that come from working at the Highlands.

We are looking to fill positions at the following locations:

Slopeside Lounge: Located in the Main Lodge with great views of our ski hills. It's also the place to be for lunch and/or dinner!

Zoo Bar: Located in the Day Lodge with views of our C6 lift. A great place for lunch and to catch one of our many bands on a Saturday!!

• Communicates absences and schedule changes promptly.
• Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
