We hope so.Beacon Social Drinkery Bartender will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance to the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. Beacon Bartenders will also be responsible for making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the recipe and delivering high quality food and drinks in a clean and friendly environment.Position: Beacon BartenderLocation: Fort Myers, FLReports to: Beacon General Manager, Assistant Manager, and SupervisorStatus: Non-Exempt (Hourly)Essential FunctionsGeneral knowledge of cocktail crafting and mixology fundamentalsCurate guests’ bar experience by making recommendationsKnowledge of all beverages to include liquors and winesServes guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of serviceKnowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Luminary Hotel & Co.Have necessary tools to run the shift such as pen, corkscrew, any bar tools, etc.Ability to pair wines with mealsUnderstanding that bar serves full menu and must be prepared as much to serve full coursed or shared meals to guestsLight food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hotKnowledge of all menu items to include: prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompanimentsCollect payment for food and beverages servedFollow practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcoholBe aware of any specials, soups, drinks, and any items that are running lowAbility to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experienceFollow cash handling procedures, and must be able to explain shortages and overagesMaintain bar areaClean glasses, utensils, and bar equipmentPerform other duties as management requests to service our guests.Qualification StandardsEducation & ExperienceHigh School diploma or higherPrevious hospitality experience requiredMinimum 2-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant preferable in the Southwest, Florida areaExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to use technology e.g. tablets, iPadsPhysical DemandsAbility to lift 20 pounds or moreAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate clearlyCorrected vision to normal rangeAbility to work long hours as neededMental DemandsMake sound judgments quicklyWork on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlinesAble to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to othersManage differing personalities within the office, the hotel, and the communityMaintain the highest degree of confidentialityAbility to work effectively in stressful, high pressure situationsAbility to effectively handle challenges in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessaryNOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
