Job summary

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and cocktails, and experience with POS systems. The role includes inventory, menu development, social media content, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience with POS systems such as POSITOUCH or MICROS.
• Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding.

Responsibilities

• Stocks bar, mixes and serves beverages, assists with inventory and cost control.
• Assists with seasonal cocktail creation and menu development.
• Assists with social media content planning and scheduling.
• Maintains inventory control and communicates needs to management.
• Ensures compliance with state liquor laws and SOPs.
• Gathers guest requests and relays to the Department Manager.
• Performs opening/closing duties, cash handling, and restocking.
• Operates POS system for orders and payments.
• Reviews banquet schedules and events.

General Purpose

Our restaurant, Barrel House Bistro, is at the heart of our community, serving as a gathering place where neighbors connect, celebrate, and enjoy outstanding food and beverage experiences.

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional who is looking for a long-term role where they can truly make a difference in a community-focused service environment. Pay Range

$17.00 to $20.00 per hour (Depending of Experience)

Essential Duties

• Stocks bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages, assists in cost control, inventory, and maintains inventory records
• Assists department leaders with creation of seasonal cocktails and development of menu
• Assists department leaders with social media schedule and creation of content
• Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products; communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed
• Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
• Performs opening and closing duties, including inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking
• Accountable for checks and cash transactions; utilizes Point of Sales system
• Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events
• Serves catered parties from service or portable bars
• On occasion, serves meals to guests
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
• Performs other duties as required

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g., POSITOUCH and MICROS)

Physical Demands

• Frequently stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands. Regularly reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, smells, and sits. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds. Occasionally may lift up to 50 pounds.

Certificates/Licenses

• ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent
