Job summary

Turtleback Mountain Golf is seeking a Part-Time Bartender in Elephant Butte, NM. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of bartending experience and solid knowledge of beer, wine and spirits. Fluency in English and ServSafe or TIPS certification are preferred.

You will stock, mix, and serve beverages, assist with menu development, and ensure compliance with liquor laws in a fast-paced setting. The role includes cash handling, POS use, event service, and staying attentive to guest

Qualifications

  • At least two years of bartending experience.
  • Knowledge of liquor, beer and wine.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • ServSafe or TIPS certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stock bar, mix and serve alcoholic beverages; manage inventory.
  • Assist in creating seasonal cocktails and menu development.
  • Maintain inventory control and communicate needs to management.
  • Ensure compliance with state liquor laws and procedures.
  • Handle POS transactions and cash; balance at close.
  • Prepare for events; serve meals when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety; regular attendance.

Description

Turtleback Mountain Golf and Resort, located in Elephant Butte, NM, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Bartender! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

General Purpose

Makes and serves guests delicious beverages in accordance with established standards and with hospitality and professionalism. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.

  • Stock bar, mix and serve alcoholic beverages, assist in cost control, and maintain inventory records
  • Assist department leaders with the creation of seasonal cocktails and the development of the menu
  • Maintain inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products; communicate with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management
  • Communicate guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
  • Perform opening and closing duties, which include, but are not limited to, inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking
  • Accountable for checks and cash transactions; utilize the Point-of-Sale system
  • Review banquet schedule for changes, special events, and calendar updates
  • Serve catered parties from service or portable bars
  • On occasion, serve meals to guests
  • Incorporate safe work practices in job performance
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as required

At least two years experience as well as knowledge of liquor beer and wine. Must be customer service driven have the ability to overcome stressful situations.

Preferred Requirements

Mixology experience helpful but not necessary

Physical Demands

Frequently stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands. Regularly reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, smells, and sits. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds. Occasionally may lift up to 50 pounds.

Certificates/Licenses

ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current trends in the industry and marketplace

Knowledge of cocktail recipes

Professional and courteous demeanor

Demonstrates a strong commitment to company values

Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients, and vendors

Fluent in spoken, written, and comprehended English

Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
