Job summary

Burke Mountain Resort in Vermont is seeking an experienced Lead Bartender to support our Food & Beverage team. You will oversee daily bar operations, ensure excellent guest service, manage inventory, and assist with training and supervising staff.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about beer, wine, cocktails, and responsible alcohol service, and stays professional in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support bartending staff to ensure excellent service and accurate pours.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and food offerings.
• Prepare and serve beverages consistently according to established standards.
• Provide friendly, attentive, and professional guest service.
• Monitor guests for responsible alcohol consumption and verify identification.
• Address guest concerns and inappropriate behavior safely and professionally.
• Assist guests with safe transportation options when necessary.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe, and fully stocked bar areas.
• Monitor and rotate liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and other supplies.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and maintaining appropriate liquor costs.
• Accurately process orders and payments through the POS system.
• Maintain an organized cash drawer and complete end-of-shift cash-outs.
• Prepare garnishes and maintain an attractive, functional bar setup.
• Clear and reset tables and assist with overall restaurant cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
