Sequoia Pro Bowl is seeking friendly, energetic Bartenders to provide great beverage service in a fast-paced bowling and entertainment environment. Our bartenders serve a mix of league bowlers, open-play guests, karaoke crowds, tournaments, parties, and special events.
This is more than simply making drinks. Bartenders help create the social atmosphere our guests come to Sequoia to enjoy. The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, efficient, and able to provide excellent service while responsibly managing a busy bar.
Role Overview
The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, processing guest transactions, maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar, and providing friendly, responsible service.
Bartenders work closely with the Bar Manager and other team members to keep service moving efficiently, particularly during busy league nights, weekends, tournaments, and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service
- Prepare beer, wine, cocktails, mixed drinks, and non‑alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards
- Take guest orders accurately and efficiently
- Make recommendations and promote featured drinks, specials, and other offerings
- Monitor guests throughout their visit and anticipate service needs
- Respond professionally to guest questions, concerns, and complaints
POS & Cash Handling
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system
- Process cash, credit card, and other approved payments
- Maintain responsibility for assigned cash drawer and transactions
- Follow all procedures for tabs, discounts, voids, and complimentary items
- Accurately complete opening, shift‑change, and closing procedures as required
- Verify identification and follow all applicable alcohol‑service laws
- Monitor alcohol consumption and recognize signs of intoxication
- Refuse or discontinue alcohol service when appropriate
- Follow Sequoia policies regarding responsible alcohol service and guest safety
- Communicate concerns promptly to management
Bar Operations & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar throughout the shift
- Stock beer, liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other supplies
- Monitor inventory and notify management when products or supplies are running low
- Follow proper product portioning and pouring standards
- Help minimize waste, spills, breakage, and inventory loss
- Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and restocking duties
- Maintain clean bar tops, coolers, equipment, storage areas, and service stations
Teamwork
- Work closely with fellow bartenders, kitchen staff, porters, desk attendants, and managers
- Communicate clearly during shift changes and busy service periods
- Support special events, tournaments, leagues, karaoke nights, and group functions
- Assist teammates when needed to keep the overall guest experience running smoothly
This is a fast‑paced, customer‑facing position. Bartenders may serve a large number of guests during peak periods and must be able to manage multiple orders and priorities without sacrificing accuracy, hospitality, or responsible alcohol service.
The role requires prolonged standing, frequent movement, bending, reaching, lifting beverage products and supplies, and working in a busy entertainment environment.

Skills & Qualifications
- Prior bartending experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of basic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
- Ability to work efficiently during high‑volume periods
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Basic math and cash‑handling ability
- Comfortable using POS systems, tablets, and workplace apps
- Dependable and punctual
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn Sequoia's recipes, products, procedures, and service standards
