360 Chicago is seeking a friendly, energetic bartender to greet guests, take drink orders, and craft beverages to meet guest preferences. You will maintain bar cleanliness, manage stock, and work with Toast and other systems to process orders and payments.

Job description

  • Greet customers promptly, take drink orders, and offer recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Ensure customers are satisfied with their drinks and experience, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Maintain knowledge of the bar menu and any daily specials to provide recommendations.
  • Drink Preparation:
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and mixed drinks.
  • Ensure drinks are made to specification and served in a timely manner.
  • Follow proper drink recipes, garnishing, and presentation standards.
  • Use of Ticket System:
  • Work with the Ventrata and Toast ticket system to process customer orders accurately.
  • Scan items through Ventrata and ensure all drinks and menu items are logged properly into the Toast POS system.
  • Communicate with the barback and kitchen staff to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely service.
  • Monitor orders and adjust to high-demand periods, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stocking and Inventory:
  • Ensure the bar is fully stocked with alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and supplies by checking inventory levels regularly.
  • Assist in restocking during shifts and inform the bar manager when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Properly store and label bottles and ingredients to keep the bar organized and accessible.
  • Cash Handling and Payment Processing:
  • Accurately process payments through the Toast system, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payment options.
  • Provide correct change and ensure receipts are provided to customers.
  • Handle tabs efficiently, closing out checks when appropriate.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area throughout the shift, including wiping down surfaces and ensuring glassware is clean.
  • Take care of glassware and bar equipment, ensuring it’s sanitized and ready for use.
  • Clean up spills, broken glass, and keep the bar area free of clutter to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform opening and closing duties as required, such as restocking, cleaning, and setting up the bar for the next shift.
  • Teamwork and Communication:
  • Collaborate with fellow bartenders, barbacks, and other staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure customer orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Help train and mentor new bartenders or staff members when needed.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure that all alcohol is served responsibly and in compliance with local liquor laws.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures for health and safety, including checking IDs and adhering to proper sanitation practices.
  • Adhere to alcohol serving limits, ensuring customers are not overserved.
  • Special Events and Promotions:
  • Participate in special events, promotions, and themed nights as needed.
  • Promote and upsell drinks, specials, or merchandise in a friendly and respectful manner.
