Job summary

Malteurop Job Board is seeking a Barley Lead Lab Technician to train new technicians and perform product testing to ensure it meets customer specifications. The role focuses on supporting laboratory operations, maintaining equipment and data integrity, and ensuring safety across the lab.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a science field and at least three years in a lab/testing environment, with proficiency in Excel/Word and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a science related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a laboratory/testing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; English speaking required.
• Ability to perform basic statistical analysis and recognize mathematical errors.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail with organization and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and improve laboratory operations.
• Provide training and improve skills of Laboratory Technicians.
• Assist in development and maintenance of operator aids and procedures.
• Provide support and guidance during upset conditions.
• Ensure traceability of barley and oversee barley database; produce reports as needed.
• Perform inspections of barley producing and storage facilities for vendor qualification.
• Fill in for the Laboratory Manager or Lead Laboratory Technician as needed.
• Identify malfunctions and perform corrective maintenance on equipment and instruments.
• Maintain consumable levels by monitoring inventory and ordering supplies.
• Create and maintain a safe professional work environment.
