Job summary

Osmium is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Chicago to help train the barista team and support day-to-day store performance. The role emphasizes leadership, excellent customer service, and executing tasks to ensure smooth operations.

You will coach staff, assist in hiring, scheduling, and coverage for unexpected absences, and help maintain store standards while reporting progress to the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop the barista team to meet quality standards and service levels.
• Coach staff on barista skills, customer service, coffee knowledge and communication.
• Assist in hiring processes and first-round candidate screening.
• Support Store Manager with scheduling and coverage for shifts and absences.
• Monitor store performance, safety, cleanliness and asset protection.
• Provide feedback and implement improvement plans when performance is below standards.
