Job summary

Four Seasons Houston seeks a Barista to deliver exceptional coffee experiences to Bayou & Bean guests in a luxury setting. You will prepare and serve specialty drinks, assist guests, and uphold Four Seasons standards with a focus on guest satisfaction.

The role is part-time with open availability, including late nights, holidays, and weekends. Training and employee benefits are provided in a luxury resort environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve drip and specialty coffees per recipes and Four Seasons standards.
• Confirm orders using the POS and verify against the original order.
• Take and describe orders to guests at the bar and maintain product knowledge.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond to concerns promptly.
• Clean the coffee machine.
• Close guest checks and process payments, settling voided items with a supervisor.

About the role:

The Barista provides exceptional quality and service to Bayou & Bean guests. In this role, the Barista will serve guests' needs by providing exceptional knowledge of specialty coffees as well as information regarding preparation methods and personalized service.

What you will do:

• Prepare and serve a selection of drip and specialty coffees from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and established Four Seasons Standards.
• Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests using the hotel's point-of-sales system; check completed orders with the guest's original order.
• Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s taste and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of coffee and specialty drinks.
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
• Clean coffee machine.
• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items with manager assistance.

What you bring:

• An outgoing personality and a can-do approach to an assigned task
• High level of understanding and knowledge of coffee, espresso and tea, including preparation methods
• Background in Luxury Resort and Hotel considered an asset
