Kneads Bakeshop in Navy Yard, Washington, DC is seeking a passionate Barista Manager who oversees the specialty coffee program and front-of-house operations in a high-volume cafe. This leader will serve as the onsite coffee expert, leading and developing the barista team and maintaining the highest standards for coffee preparation and service.

The Barista Manager will also act as Manager on Duty, support the dining room, resolve guest concerns, and partner with back-of-house to ensure seamless

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality management education is a plus.
• Experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant, bakery, or similar hospitality setting.
• Ability to work more than 40 hours per week including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong understanding of coffee inventory management, product rotation, ordering, pars, and waste reduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the specialty coffee program and oversee front-of-house café operations.
• Ensure exceptional beverage quality, genuine hospitality, and high-volume service.
• Serve as onsite coffee expert, leading and developing the barista team.
• Maintain highest standards for coffee preparation, service, and guest experience.
• Act as Manager on Duty for front-of-house operations and dining room support.
• Collaborate with back-of-house to ensure seamless daily operations.
• Coach and mentor baristas to elevate skills and service levels.
• Create and manage barista schedule for staffing efficiency.
• Oversee coffee ordering, inventory, rotation, pars, and waste.
• Assess situations using facts and data to inform decisions.
