Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • This position is responsible for leading the coffee shop outlet operation and ensuring staff provides a memorable and legendary experience for all guests. Responsible for providing fast, friendly, and world-class hospitality to all guests.
  • DIRECTLY SUPERVISES:

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports the Manager in all departmental initiatives related to Starbucks.
  • Owns the Starbucks area experience, including cleanliness, customer-facing signage, audio/visual components, and ensures the highest level of welcoming and promptness from staff.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals and objectives for the Starbucks outlet.
  • Promotes customer loyalty and brand image by continually exceeding customer expectations.
  • Reviews scheduling and staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage for guest volumes.
  • Inspires and motivates partner performance through recognition and feedback.
  • Leads and serves with the Green Apron behaviors; sets shift standards and recognizes positive actions of others.
  • Greets everyone at all times with a smile, eye contact, and verbal greeting from arrival to departure.
  • Prepares coffee with a comprehensive understanding of blends, quality, variety, roast degree, and latte art.
  • Recites recipes from memory and prepares beverages flawlessly.
  • Upsells chocolates and pastries according to restaurant standards.
  • Ensures all equipment is in working order throughout the shift in accordance with standards.
  • Assists with new hire training on product preparation, cash handling, and register policies.
  • Responsible for stocking retail areas and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum two years of high-volume serving experience. Must have completed Barista Training and advanced Store Training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be congenial with a neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Must be reliable, conscientious, and able to lead as a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Ability to interact in English with guests, co-workers, and supervisory staff.
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to act quickly and exercise good judgment under pressure or in conflict situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Diverse, fast-paced, deadline-driven, with multi-project coordination, prioritizing, and flexibility to accommodate last-minute requests and changes.
