Overview

The Barista is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. The Barista promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; selling coffee, coffee grinding and brewing equipment, accessories and supplies. Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries, gelato, and cookies.

Responsibilities

1. Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system.
2. Perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork.
3. Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation assignment and established checklist.
4. Be familiar with fire extinguishers, locations and know how to use them.
5. Sell coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines, demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
6. Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, and maintaining supplies, pastries, cookies, and gelato for coffee bar.
7. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
