Job Description: Barista

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Barista positions at JWS - 111 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030. Online applications are accepted only.

Requirements: Prior barista experience is preferred. Internal Employee Referral Bonus available.

Pay Range: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Make and serve coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items. Handle food according to HACCP standards. Interact with customers and colleagues in a friendly, courteous manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso orders using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into the POS system; accept payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies; maintain cleanliness.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and temperature standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment and workspace.
• Follow recipes and production standards for food preparation.
• Keep display equipment clean and debris-free during service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly after use.
• Greet and interact courteously with customers, relay concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers efficiently, prevent delays.
• Understand and explain menu items accurately.
• Assist in selling through good communication and customer service.
• Merchandise display foods attractively and serve neatly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
