Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking a Barista to join the café inside one of our retail store locations. You’ll craft coffee and specialty drinks, prepare fresh food, and keep the space clean and inviting while delivering friendly, consistent service.

Under the General Manager, you’ll own each drink, each transaction, and every customer interaction, ensuring the café runs smoothly across shifts and contributes to a memorable shopping and café experience for customers.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older
• Successful completion of all required background screenings

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the café and make every shift count; work independently to keep the café running smoothly and create a great experience for every customer.
• Create the kind of café experience customers come back for by crafting great coffee, specialty drinks, and fresh food.
• Greet customers with warmth and provide exceptional customer service on each transaction.
• Balance the cash drawer after each shift and follow loss prevention standards to protect customers and the company.
• Keep the café space clean, welcoming, and aligned with sanitation standards; stock and merchandise the café neatly.
• Support fellow café teammates and assist with cleaning and restocking as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
