Job summary

Responsibilities

• Create welcoming environment and answer questions about products in department/store.
• Know products, respond to questions, and suggest items.
• Promote teamwork with associates to reach store goals.
• Prepare beverages per recipe and standards; process transactions per company practices.
• Offer samples and inform customers of coffee shop specials.
• Provide fresh products with correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend coffee shop items to meet customer needs.
• Use equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines; label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality and sell-by dates; take action as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment (espresso machine, blender, scale, steamer).
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to department manager.
• Stay current with ads (present, future, seasonal, sales).
• Adhere to safety procedures and food safety guidelines; identify unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
• Report accidents and safety risks to management; report theft/fraud.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Support interactions involving minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
