Job summary

Hotel-Ava in Paso Robles, CA is seeking a friendly hospitality team member to provide quality food and beverage service. You will take orders, describe menu items, and look for upsell opportunities while serving hot and cold drinks and pastries.

You will maintain cleanliness, operate a POS system, handle cash, and follow safety and sanitation standards. Prior customer service experience and Safe Server certification are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have excellent customer relations skills.
• Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must possess basic computational ability.
• One to three years food service experience preferred; one year customer service experience required.
• Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required.

Responsibilities

• Take customer orders; describe menu items and suggest products to customers.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan, and specialty beverages, along with pastries and cookies.
• Prepare all drinks and food items following the outlet and company standards.
• Educate and inform customers about coffee beans, preparation and home brewing methods.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following sanitation regulations.
• Operate a cash register/POS system and handle payments following company policies.
• Follow safety and security policies to ensure staff safety during each shift.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
