Responsibilities

• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products within the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve store goals.
• Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company practices.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items, inform customers of coffee shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use coffee shop equipment according to guidelines; prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Reinforce safety programs and report safety risks to management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents; report safety risks, theft, or fraud.
• Work cooperatively in high paced environments and manage conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
