Qualifications

• Previous barista experience preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educate guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions.
• Sell coffee and equipment by explaining differences in beans and preparation machines; demonstrate how brewing equipment operates.
• Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and techniques (espresso lungo, caffe latte, cappuccino).
• Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
• Keep equipment operating by following instructions; troubleshoot breakdowns; maintain supplies; perform preventive maintenance; call for repairs.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improve quality by evaluating processes; redesigning as needed; enhancing store and coffee bar appearance.
• Enhance coffee shop reputation by taking ownership of new requests and adding value.
• Operate the POS for part of the shift, minimum 4 hours.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
• Assist with monthly breakdowns for deep cleaning.
• Any other duties as assigned within scope.
