Job summary

You will educate customers, operate brewing equipment, maintain inventory, ensure safety and sanitation, and cooperate with the team to deliver fast, friendly service.

Prior barista experience is preferred; you will train and be expected to handle shifts, including holidays and weekends, in a busy cafe setting.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience is required or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must have completed introductory period as a GSR barista.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
• Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as expresso, expresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
