Job summary

McLean Bible Church is seeking a Barista to join our Café team. The role focuses on preparing high-quality beverages, delivering excellent customer service, and keeping a clean, efficient work area in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has a passion for coffee, enjoys experimenting with flavors and presenting drinks creatively, and is comfortable handling payments and restocking when needed. Sunday-only shifts from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Barista preferred.
• Customer service experience in food service or retail is a plus.
• Passion for coffee and hospitality.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, coffee-based drinks, tea, and other beverages following Café recipes and guidelines.
• Take customer orders and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients and supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning equipment and utensils.
• Promote new products, specials, or seasonal offerings to customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure smooth operations and safe food handling.
• When necessary, assist with processing payments (via cash, credit/debit cards) and do so accurately.
• Assist in restocking inventory as needed.
• Support team members and help with other tasks when necessary.

McLean Bible Church (MBC) is seeking a Barista to join our Café team. The position is responsible for preparing high-quality beverages. ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate must have a passion for coffee, experimenting with flavors, developing new drinks, and showing creativity through presentation. The individual must also be able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Work Schedule: Sundays only: 7:30 am to 2:00 pm

• Prepare and serve coffee, coffee-based drinks, tea, and other beverages following Café recipes and guidelines

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in taking orders and handling payments
• Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate clearly with others

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs (e.g. coffee bags, supplies)
• Must be able to handle hot beverages and equipment with care
• Ability to work in a busy environment and move quickly while providing excellent customer service
• Manual dexterity to operate machinery (e.g. espresso machine, grinders).
