Job summary

Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino Lake Tahoe is seeking a Barista to deliver friendly, efficient service while exemplifying the K.E.E.P. values. You will greet guests, take orders, prepare coffee, and manage cash with accuracy in a lively resort setting.

Responsibilities include pre-shift meetings, maintaining neat work areas, upselling, and ensuring product quality. This tipped position offers advancement opportunities and a competitive benefits package in a dynamic casino environment.

Qualifications

• Must have good people skills and a well-groomed appearance.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must have working knowledge of point of sales systems.
• Must be able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
• Minimum age requirement is 21.

• Clean coffee and tea machines daily and as needed.
• Turnover/takeover station according to established procedures.

Overview

It is the responsibility of the Barista to provide efficient and courteous service to our guests while displaying salesmanship and friendly hospitality skills. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. - Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-shift meetings.
• Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and Health Department regulations.
• Greet guests in a friendly and timely manner to take order for food and beverage items.
• Use suggestive selling techniques.
• Know all menu items.
• Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to the guests.
• Responsible for obtaining, reconciling and returning cash bank at the beginning and end of shift.
• Accurately input food and beverage orders into the Aloha system. Follow cash handling procedures and cash register policies.
• Rotate and date all product
• Thank guests, present checks and settle checks according to established procedures.
• Always invite guests back to the outlet.
• Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the Manager on duty.
• Inform Bus Person of needed supplies.
• Keep work area stocked with needed supplies, keep work area neat, clean and organized.
• Fill pastry display as needed.
• Prepare all coffee products as needed.
• Clean coffee and tea machines daily and as needed.
• Assist Bus Person with cleaning tables, floors and emptying trash as needed.
• Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products.
• Complete assigned side work.
• Assist with maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment.
• Turnover/takeover station according to established procedures.

• Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.

Work Environment

• Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
• Work with others in close spaces.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
• Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.

Pay Range

Starting from USD $17.00/Hr.
