Job summary

The Grove Artisan Cafe and Bakery - Downtown is seeking a Barista to deliver an exceptional guest experience by crafting coffee, tea, and beverages in a fast-paced setting. Full barista training is provided for the right candidates, with emphasis on hospitality, consistency, and cleanliness.

You will greet guests, suggest menu items, handle orders and payments with Square, and work with the team to maintain a welcoming environment and smooth front-of-house operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years general work experience.
• Must possess a valid Arizona Food Handler’s Card.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, teas, and other cafe offerings according to recipes and standards.
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and efficiency during peak hours.
• Learn and follow all brewing, steaming, and pouring techniques.

Customer Service

• Greet guests with warmth and professionalism.
• Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations.
• Handle orders and payments accurately using POS (Square).

Cleanliness & Organization

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area throughout the shift.
• Restock ingredients, cups, and supplies as needed.
• Follow daily and weekly cleaning checklists.

Teamwork & Culture

• Communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
