Job summary

LYFE Kitchen is seeking a friendly Barista to greet guests, take beverage orders, and provide information about our products. You will prepare drinks to our standards and operate a POS system with cash handling policies in place.

You will educate customers on coffee beans, preparation methods, and home brewing, while keeping the shop clean and stocked. You should be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs, speak English well, and work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Cash handling experience preferred.

Job description

• Greets LYFE Kitchen guests and prepares beverage orders; provides information about LYFE Kitchen and our products
• Prepares all drink orders to company standards
• Operates a point-of-sale system as neededfollows all customer service and cash handling policies and procedures
• Educates and informs customers about the differences among coffee beans, coffee preparation and home brewing methods
• Cleans and stocks new supplies as needed
• Follows our operational policies and procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure the safety of all LYFERS and guests during each shift
• Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep LYFE operating to standard and to set a positive example for fellow LYFERS

Requirements

To be considered for a Barista position at LYFE Kitchen:

• Some cash handling and customer service experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and fellow LYFE team members in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
• Requires the ability to stand, bend, and lift (up to 25 lbs.) in order to perform normal job functions
• Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers in English
• Requires ability to operate various equipment, including a point-of-sale computer
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Requires the ability to learn and maintain knowledge of companys products and procedures
