We are hiring immediately for full‑time Barista positions at Stetson University, 421 North Woodland Boulevard, DeLand, FL 32723. Online applications only.

Job Summary

Makes and serves coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items, handles food in accordance with HACCP guidelines, and interacts with customers and staff in a friendly, courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into the POS device; accept cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of the service area.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Ensure proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greets customers courteously and interacts to ensure customer satisfaction; reports relevant concerns to supervisors.
• Serves customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays in serving lines.
• Demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and explains them accurately to customers.
• Acts as an advocate for selling techniques, establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision‑making process.
• Ensures all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards and serves food neatly and attractively.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior food service and barista experience required.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Must be eligible for Florida Level 2 background screening, as required for certain positions.

Compensation

Pay Range: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
