Position: Full-time Barista

Location: Nova Southeastern University – 3301 College Ave, Davie, FL 33314

Schedule: Open availability; shifts may vary. Weekends and nights required.

Pay Range: $15.00–$17.00 per hour

Job Summary

Makes and serves coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items. Handles food according to HACCP guidelines and quality standards, welcomes customers, and maintains a clean and efficient service area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into POS device; accept cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies while maintaining cleanliness of the service area.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Ensure food preparation uses approved recipes and follows prescribed production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner that ensures customer satisfaction; relay concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays in serving lines.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
• Act as an advocate of selling techniques by establishing good communication and assisting customers in the buying decision process.
• Ensure display foods are merchandised attractively per standards and serve food neatly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
