Barista - Coffee Shop in Akron

We are hiring a skilled Barista to join our team at a popular coffee shop in Akron.

As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating and serving high-quality coffee and tea beverages to our customers. Your role will also involve taking orders, operating the cash register, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our guests. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent customer service skills, a passion for coffee, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time position with flexible hours, perfect for someone looking to gain experience in the food and beverage industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and serve hot and cold coffee and tea beverages according to customer preferences
2. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
3. Operate the cash register and handle transactions
4. Maintain cleanliness of work area, including counter tops, equipment, tables, and floors
5. Ensure all food safety regulations are followed
6. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about menu items, making recommendations, and resolving any complaints or issues
7. Restock supplies as needed throughout shift
8. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the coffee shop

Requirements:

1. Previous experience as a barista or in the food service industry preferred but not required
2. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
4. Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
5. Knowledge of different types of coffee beans, roasts, brewing methods, and latte art is an asset but not necessary
6. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds
7. Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary:

Starting salary is $1300 per month with potential for tips.
