Job summary

Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital in Sebastian, FL, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to support Bariatric and General Surgery. This full-time role provides perioperative care, participates in rounds, and collaborates with physicians to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

The position requires FL licensure as an APRN/PA, national certification, and current BLS. Specialty experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MN or MSN or DNP or PhD or DNS degree in nursing
• Graduate of accredited physician assistant program

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing care for patients receiving radiation treatments; writes appropriate orders, including those for perioperative orders, narcotics, stimulants, and depressant drugs.
• Performs emergency life-saving procedures in cases such cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, massive hemorrhage, or similar catastrophe.
• Performs daily rounds independently or with attending physicians and/or students; documents H&P and discharge summaries; initiates therapeutic actions.
• Dispense/prescribe medication, as authorized by supervising medical staff member; issues oral and written orders to be countersigned within 24 hours.
• Scrub with supervising surgeon in operating room and assist with surgical procedures; remove catheters, drains, sutures, and staples; close wounds when directed.
