Job summary

Albany Medical Center’s Surgery Bariatrics team seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to deliver high-quality surgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative settings. Workday shifts in a dedicated department with multidisciplinary collaboration and clinical autonomy.

Responsibilities include patient evaluations, treatment planning, ordering tests, prescribing within scope, and educating patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA/NP program.
• Current NY State PA or NP license.
• Current national certification as PA or NP.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans in pre-, peri-, and post-operative settings.
• Order, interpret diagnostics and imaging to support care decisions.
• Prescribe medications within scope and ensure follow-up care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and recovery expectations.
