Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Weight Management: Charlotte - Bariatric Program. The role supports patient intake, vitals, history, medications, and screenings, while assisting providers with procedures and lab tasks.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program, and AHA BLS. The position is full-time with a 40-hour week and standard M-F daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification per American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, med reconciliation, medical history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Completes tasks like refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and proper infection control.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care and effective communication.
