Job summary

The role emphasizes autonomy in a fast-paced surgical specialty with emphasis on evidence-based care and professional growth. Experience in bariatric or foregut surgery is encouraged, and ACLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• Texas licensure or eligibility for APRN practice.
• NCCPA certification and state licensure.
• ACLS certification as per UT Southwestern policy.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and documents comprehensive initial and follow-up examinations based on age and diagnosis.
• Synthesizes data to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care using labs and imaging.
• Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills appropriate to specialty and training.
• Provides management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients and families.
• Facilitates quality initiatives and clinical research protocols to improve care.
• Collaborates on research projects and applies evidence-based practices.
