Henry Ford Health is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutrition care for bariatric patients before and after surgery. The RD will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition care, coordinating with the health care team and educating patients throughout hospitalization and post-discharge.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the culinary wellness department and obesity weight-management programs, offered within Henry Ford Medical Group in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or related field that meets Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements.
• Master’s degree or Advanced Practice Certification preferred.
• Requires knowledge of chemistry, physiology, caloric values and medical nutrition therapy.
• Must read/write English; understand medical terminology.

Responsabilités

• Assess nutritional needs of patients and interpret data to identify nutrition problems.
• Determine patient nutrition history and relevant clinical data from records and team.
• Identify and describe nutrition problems and plan interventions.
• Implement nutrition interventions including education, counseling, and nutrient delivery.
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes and adjust plans accordingly.
• Educate patients and families on nutrition and diet plans during and after hospitalization.
• Develop and conduct in-service classes and community nutrition education.
