Job summary

PeaceHealth seeks a Patient Coordinator for the Bariatric Center to oversee the pre-operative plan and coordinate care for patients pursuing bariatric surgery.

You will manage referrals, obtain insurance preauthorizations, document in the EHR, and communicate with patients, providers, and insurers to keep the program on track and maintain high-quality care throughout the bariatric pathway.

Qualifications

• Two years experience as referral/pre-authorization specialist or similar role.
• Experience in lead role in a clinical or office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of bariatric program and insurance preauthorization processes.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage patient movement through bariatric program.
• Screen eligibility for bariatric surgery and obtain preauthorizations.
• Coordinate communication among patients, physicians and insurers; document in EHR.
