Job summary

PeopleReady of Houston, TX is seeking a Barge Loader/Unloader to join our on-site team. You will load and unload cargo, operate material-handling gear, and help secure shipments in a busy dock environment.

Ideal candidates are able to lift heavy loads, follow safety rules, and pass background checks and drug testing. We offer flexible shifts, next-day pay, and access to JobStack for easy job management.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with PeopleReady.
• Must be able to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more on a repetitive basis
• Must be able to follow instructions
• Must have safety awareness and knowledge of construction site safety rules
• Background check and Drug test required

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials such as steel, aggregates, grain, coal, sand, equipment, or other cargo
• Operate forklifts, cranes, conveyors, winches, and other material-handling equipment
• Secure cargo using chains, straps, and other fastening devices
• Assist with moving materials to designated storage or staging areas
• Follow safety procedures while working around water, heavy equipment, and moving cargo
• Maintain cleanliness of dock, barge, and work areas

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $15 - $15 / hour*
