Job summary

PSC Group is hiring a Dock Operator for a full-time outdoor role handling the transfer of oil products and chemicals to and from barges or ships in Martinez, CA. You will work with vessel crews, maintain logs, and operate cranes and valves to ensure safe, accurate product transfer.

18+ with legal work status in the U.S., ability to pass background checks, and fluency in English are required. On-the-job training is available; a valid Driver’s License or TWIC card may be needed based on location.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Speak, write, read fluent English
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
• May require a valid Driver’s License and/or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• Experience is a plus but not required; paid on-the-job training is available
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus

Responsibilities

• Meets with the person-in-charge of the vessel and communicates with facility personnel
• Maintains detailed dock logs to ensure all events are recorded in chronological order
• Operates crane, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical equipment, and manual / motor operated valves
• Understands the facility piping layout to transfer the proper product
• Gauges barge and retrieves sample of product from vessel
• Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job
