Job summary

The Rouse Estate in Youngsville, PA, seeks a qualified Barber/Cosmetologist to provide regular hair care to residents on campus. The role involves coordinating with Nursing and Social Services to meet residents' needs while upholding strict safety and infection control standards.

The position requires current PA Barber or Cosmetology licensure; one year of elder-care experience is preferred. Duties include maintaining records, preparing for inspections, and transporting residents to the salon as

Responsibilities

• Provide hair care services to residents on a regular basis.

• Recommend treatments and apply non-prescribed services as needed.
• Maintain records of services, charges and free services for each resident.
• Ensure salon state inspections are successful and licenses are up to date.
• Transport residents to/from the salon as necessary.

With over 150 years of experience, the Rouse has a rich history of providing person-center care to all generations.

What does a RouseBarber/Cosmetologist do?

• Provide hair care services to residents on a regular basis.
• Coordinate services by working with Nursing and Social Services to ensure that special needs of residents or resident family requests are met effectively.
• Create and maintain a safe, clean and calm environment in the salon; insure that established safety and infection control standards are enforced in order to maintain quality resident care.
• Make recommendations for any prescribed treatments which may be necessary; apply non-prescribed treatments as necessary.
• Maintain records for each resident on services provided; record all activities, charges and free services rendered.
• Insure successful state inspections of the salon; insure license is current and displayed in salon; and remain knowledgeable on relevant state laws.
• Transport residents to/from salon as necessary.

What are the requirements to be a Barber/Cosmetologist at the Rouse?
