Job summary

Midwood Smokehouse in Huntersville, NC is hiring an experienced BBQ Pit Cook to manage our wood smoker and prepare proteins for daily service and catering. You will work with seasoned Pitmasters to ensure high-quality, consistently prepared barbecue.

The ideal candidate has meat/butcher experience, can start early, and is diligent about cleanliness and safety while delivering mouthwatering, authentic southern-style barbecue.

Qualifications

• Experience with meat preparation and butchery is required.
• Able to start early, with shift starting around 6 am.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Smoke meats according to Pitmaster directions.
• Prep and monitor meat to meet daily demand while minimizing waste.
• Assist in inventory, receiving, and storage of food and supplies.
• Maintain sanitation and keep the workstation clean and organized.
• Follow cleaning and maintenance schedule for the pit.
