Job summary

Fairmont New Orleans is seeking a Lobby Lounge Barback to support beverage service, maintain a clean, stocked bar, and assist with events in a luxury hotel setting.

You will work with bartenders, prepare garnishes, restock supplies, and help open/close the bar while ensuring safety and hospitality standards. This role requires a professional appearance and weekend/evening availability.

Qualifications

• Experience in barback or hospitality settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support bartenders with beverage service and guest interaction.

• Adhere to Louisiana alcohol regulations and safety procedures.

Job Description

The Lobby Lounge Barback is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the bar by maintaining cleanliness, organization, inventory, stocking, preparation, and service readiness. The ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a genuine passion for hospitality and beverage service.

Responsibilities:

• Support Bartenders in delivering professional, warm, and efficient beverage service
• Maintain fully stocked, clean, organized, and presentation-ready bar areas throughout service
• Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, juices, syrups, garnishes, glassware, ice, napkins, and other bar supplies
• Prepare garnishes, juices, syrups, mixers, and other beverage components according to established recipes and standards
• Assist with opening and closing the Lobby Lounge bar and beverage service areas
• Ensure adequate ice, glassware, bar tools, and beverage supplies are available throughout service
• Assist with setup and breakdown for regular lounge service, VIP experiences, special events, and hotel functions
• Remove used glassware, dishes, trash, and recycling promptly from bar and lounge areas
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar tops, counters, coolers, sinks, storage areas, service stations, and equipment
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining bar equipment and tools
• Assist with receiving, organizing, rotating, and storing beverage products
• Maintain proper product rotation and storage according to hotel standards
• Assist with inventory counts, requisitions, waste tracking, and product accountability
• Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or equipment concerns to leadership
• Safely transport beverage products, equipment, ice, and supplies throughout the hotel
• Assist Servers and other Front of House colleagues as needed during high-volume periods
• Maintain knowledge of beverage offerings, food menus, hotel amenities, and services
• Interact with guests warmly and professionally when appropriate
• Follow all applicable Louisiana alcohol regulations and responsible beverage service procedures
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety procedures
• Maintain a polished and professional appearance consistent with Fairmont New Orleans standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous barback, restaurant, hospitality, or Food & Beverage experience preferred
• Luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, cocktail bar, or lounge experience is an asset
• Basic knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beer, and beverage service preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
• Highly dependable and capable of working with minimal supervision
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail
• Ability to remain professional and composed during high-volume service
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must meet applicable Louisiana requirements related to alcohol service support operations
